Falafel Chaffle Sandwich

Recipe:

If you are looking for a vegetarian option to incorporate into your ketogenic weight loss journey look no further than the falafel chaffle!

You will need:
1 cup Hemp hearts : https://amzn.to/2PFhwKu
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon cumin
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons flax seed meal : https://amzn.to/32EzbaA
1/2 large onion (we used yellow)
Oil for frying (we used avocado oil)
Tomato

For the pickled red onion:
1 red onion
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup distilled white vinegar
1 tablespoon monkfruit sweetner : https://amzn.to/2wl66om
1 tablespoon salt
1 cup boiling water
1 tablespoon garlic powder

tzatziki sauce
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cucumber
1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder

Method:

Make your pickled onion by adding all the ingredients to a mason jar or other container. Thinly slice your red onion and put in the pickling solution. Place aside for at least 30 minutes.

Combine all the ingredients for the falafel in the food processor. Pulse until finely chopped.

Form into patties and put in freezer for 5-10 minutes

Add tatziki sauce ingredients into a large bowl, grate the peeled cucumber into the ingredients and the place in the fridge.

Heat up your oil on medium heat

Fry up your falafels until brown. Should only take about a minute. Drain on a paper towel after frying.

Build your falafel chaffle sandwiches!

    I found this awesome recipe on facebook last week and today I made them for a family lunch.
    I have to tell you first how easy it was and second how delicious the falafel was. We are lovers of the traditional recipe but after today I am KETO Falafel forever. I never thought since going Keto I would get to enjoy this food again, Thank you both 🙂

    Hello, i just recently started following your YT channel. Awesome success to the both of you! Only question i have is I purchased the chaffle container and parchment rounds. Do you store yours in the fridge or leave it out on counter filled with premade chaffles? Thanks a bunch

Thanks so much for watching our video and checking out our website! <3 I store them in the fridge, however sometimes they do build up a little moisture in the container so you could put a paper towel on top to adsorb some of it. I usually reheat my chaffles on a sheet pan in the oven to crisp them up again. Hope this helps! <3 -Sarah
